““...modern writing at its worst does not consist in picking out words for the sake of their meaning and inventing images in order to make the meaning clearer. It consists in gumming together long strips of words which have already been set in order by someone else, and making the results presentable by sheer humbug.””
What I Do
Writing is still full of the meaningless, pre-canned language that Orwell warned about in 1946. “Ready-made phrases,” as Orwell called them, continue to excuse us from thinking or conveying our thoughts. The exhausted vocabulary of influencers, podcasters, talking heads, and other propagandists gladly do the work for us.
My mission is to follow ideas, stories, and data wherever they lead and make their meaning clear. Whether I tell stories in my voice, your voice, or a brand’s, I’m here to to listen and think, to challenge and be challenged, to go wherever the conversation leads.
If that resonates with you, let’s talk.
